The Legacy of Life
“The Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid” Psalm 27:1
Mrs. Alene (Al) Stewart Jones was born in Screven County, GA on April 2, 1945 to the late Robert and Lizzie Mae Roberts Stewart. She departed this life on Sunday, March 13, 2022 in Monroe, NJ.
Alene attended the public schools of Screven County and was a member of the Class of 1966 of Central High School, Sylvania, GA. Upon graduation, she moved to New Jersey where she was employed at Carteret Public Library for a brief period. Afterwards, she began employment at White Castle Restaurant for the next 45 years before she retired.
Alene and Jerry had a wonderful union and marriage of over 50 years. They were deeply in love and inseparable. They traveled many years together all across the USA and the Caribbean Islands. They had a love that definitely stood the test of time.
Alene was always known for giving great family functions and served the best cooked food hands down. She put her heart and soul in her cooking and we always looked forward to our yearly family picnics, Thanksgiving and Christmas get togethers. Every April, Alene would come home to be with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Girlene Lattimore, a brother, Lee Van Williams and a daughter, Candace (Candy) Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Her loving and devoted husband, Jerry Jones of Monroe, NJ; her children, Tracy Stewart, Anthony Jones and Carolyn (KK) Jones all of Monroe NJ; four sisters, Marie McClay of Estill, SC, Betty Jean Stewart of Girard, GA, Mary Jane (Carl) Cooper of St Petersburg, FL and Mary Ellen Core Of Buffalo, NY; six brothers, Charles Stewart of St. Petersburg FL, Perry Mears of Augusta, GA, Bob (Norma) Stewart, Wesley (Bobbie Jean) Stewart and Alvin Stewart all of Sylvania, GA; and John Bonner of Augusta, GA; seven grandchildren, Sean, Tiara, Tajahn, Tracey, Sassy, Tierra and Mercedez; as well as a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and a beloved church family.
