Mrs. Aretha Shonta Lockett Robinson

January 28, 1978 – January 21, 2025

Mrs. Aretha Shonta Lockett Robinson, 46, aka “Retha”, was born on January 28, 1978, to the late Henry Lockett and Annie Murray in Richmond County, GA.

Early in life, she received her spiritual upbringing at the Dickey Grove Baptist Church of Sylvania, GA.  Later, she united and fellowshipped with the Miracle Temple Church of the True and Living God of Millen, GA.  She attended there faithfully until her health declined.  She also attended the Screven County public school system where she was a member of the Screven County Marching Band playing the trombone and the tuba.  Her love for musical instruments flowed down to her children.

Mrs. Robinson was employed in various capacities including Jockey International, MI Windows and Doors, Claxton Poultry and Pineview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  After she became ill, she devoted her time to her husband and children.

The former Ms. Aretha Shonta Lockett was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Roydine Robinson on January 28, 1999.  To this beloved union three children were born: Miss Jada Victoria Royannia Robinson, Miss Shontashia Aretha Maryanne Robinson, and Miss Indianna Italyia Royetta Robinson.  She also gained a bonus son, Mr. Desmond Robinson.

On Tuesday, January 21, 2025, Mrs. Aretha Shonta Lockett Robinson entered into eternity to be with her Lord at the East Georgia Regional Medical Centers of Statesboro, GA, following an extended illness.

Rest in peace “Retha”, our dear wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. You will be forever in our hearts. 

Fond and precious memories will forever live in the hearts of her devoted husband Mr. Roydine Robinson of the home; her (3) daughters: Jada, Shontashia, and Indianna, her son: Desmond; (3) Grandchildren: Desmiah, Desriyah, and Desmond, Jr.; her siblings: Louise (Benjamin) Herrington, Phyllis Elaine Morris, and Jeanette (John) Wallace all of Sylvania, GA, Sandra Murray and Hubert Green both of Millen, GA, and Robert Lockett, Augusta, GA; Aunts: Carrie Bell Lockett, Cora Lockett, Melanne (Curtis) Daughtry, Linda (Jimmie) Badie all of Millen, GA, Alberta Nesmith, Lillie Cox, and Jackie Henry all of Sylvania, GA; (1) Uncle: Leroy Lockett of Millen, GA (9) Brothers-in-law, (5) Sisters-in-law all of Hiltonia, GA, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
