Byron Lewis Obituary

With deep sadness and profound love, the family of Byron Joseph Lewis announces his peaceful transition on Tuesday evening, November 25, 2025, when God called him home.  Byron was born on January 10, 1982, and from the very beginning, he brought joy, light, and laughter into the world.

Byron was a loving son, father, brother, grandfather, nephew, and friend.  His heart was full of kindness, and his spirit carried an undeniable sense of adventure.  Known for his warm smile that could brighten any room, Byron made an impact on everyone blessed to know him.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy, Byron honorably served his country for four years, demonstrating courage, discipline, and unwavering dedication.  His service reflected the strength of his character and his commitment to something greater than himself.

Creative and curious by nature, Byron loved drawing, collecting comic books, and preserving memories through his baseball card collection.  He enjoyed traveling and meeting new people, always embracing every opportunity to learn, connect, and share stories.  His compassion, warmth, and genuine care touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of love that will live on forever.

He is survived by his loving mother, Sabrina Taylor Lewis; his father, Jimmy Lewis; and his sister, Ashley Lewis.  He also leaves behind one cherished nephew, Jacob Alexander Dave Cobb.

He is further survived by his four beautiful children, who were the pride of his life; Kiya Nicole Lewis of Statesboro, GA, Shaniyah Arielle Lewis, Sydney Lewis and Cameron Joseph Lewis all of Jacksonville; Byron is also remembered with love by his adorable grandchild, Aura Alexis Lewis (daughter of Shaniyah Lewis) of Jacksonville, FL.

In addition, Buron leaves behind loving aunts, supportive uncles, and caring cousins, all of whom will forever hold him close in their hearts.

Byron’s legacy is one of love, laughter, generosity, service, and unforgettable joy.  He will be deeply missed, yet his memory will continue to inspire, comfort, and echo in the lives of those who loved him

May he rest peacefully in God’s eternal embrace.
