The Life Journey

Mr. Daniel “D.L.” Moore

(December 25, 1946 – March 15, 2023)

          Mr. Daniel “D.L.” Moore, 76, was born on Christmas Day December 25, 1946, the son of the late Mr.  Amos and Mrs. Vinetta Jones Moore in Screven County, GA.

          His early spiritual upbringings began at the Second McCanaan Missionary Baptist Church of Sardis, GA.  He was also educated in the public schools of Screven County.

          He was employed with the Boral Brick Company for over 40 years.  He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the former Ms. Martha Aiken.  To this beloved union, they welcomed three children into their lives Mary Ann, Jeffrey, and Lamont.

           “D.L.”, as he was affectionately known, was an avid fisherman and loved bringing happiness and laughter to the lives of people.

          Daniel Moore lived the most of his life in Screven County until about 2 years ago when he moved to Pruitt Health Nursing Center in Millen, GA.

          On Wednesday March 15, 2023, Mr. Daniel “D.L.” Moore completed his earthly sojourn and traded this life for eternity at Memorial Health University Medical Center of Savannah, GA, following an extended illness.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters: Pauline Williams and Ruth Boyd, and (2) Brothers: Joe Lewis Moore and the Reverend Thomas Moore.

          Loving memories will forever be cherished by his daughter: Mary Ann (Thomas) Lee; (2) sons: Jeffrey (Rita) Moore and Lamont Moore; (1) Sister: Daisy Kittles; (1) Brother: Amos (Cynthia) Moore; (1) Sister-in-law: Reverend Beatrice Wilson; (10) Grandchildren, (26) Great Grands along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
