Mrs. Doris Ann Curtis, age 72, departed this life on Thursday, November 18, 2021, at her home. She was born on May 28, 1949, in Andrews, South Carolina. She attended the public schools of Screven County, Georgia and was a 1968 graduate of Central High School. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Methodist Church of Sylvania, Georgia where she was a member of the choir and a class leader. Mrs. Curtis was employed at Sylvania Yarn Systems for 39 years.
She dedicated her adult years to being a dedicated mother, sister, grandmother, and friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Janice L. Zeigler of Milledgeville, Georgia, and Michelle (Victor) Herrington of Sylvania, Georgia. She was preceded in death by son, Oswego Curtis. Mrs. Curtis was the proud grandmother of 10 grandchildren, Tyson Zeigler, Keandre’ Curtis, Hailey Herrington, Keonna Curtis, Kamryn Herrington, Ke’Cheonna Curtis, Erica Cummings, Lauryn Herrington, Kaylen Curtis, and Ava Herrington. She was also the great grandmother of one, Ashton Curtis.
Mrs. Curtis’ life will be forever celebrated by her four sisters, Thelma (Alvin) Cooper, Joann “Fannie Mae” Joseph, Ida (James) Priester, and Sarah McNair, two brothers, Clarence (Emma) Zeigler, and Jonathan Zeigler. She was preceded in death by her eldest brother, Charles Zeigler. She will always be loved by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
