Eddie Walker, Jr Obituary

Mr. Eddie Walker Jr. was born on March 10, 1960, in Millhaven, Georgia, to the late Eddie Walker Sr. and Martha Robinson Walker. He was educated in the Screven County School System. During his high school years, Eddie was an exceptional football player, affectionately known as "Gator Man #22," whose talent and determination left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

At an early age, Eddie joined Johnson Grove Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a trustee for many years until declining health prevented him from continuing his duties.

On February 10, 1979, Eddie united in holy matrimony with the love of his life, Cynthia G. Wilkins. Their loving union was blessed with two children and spanned forty-seven years of devotion, partnership, and cherished memories.

Eddie was known for his strong work ethic and unwavering dedication to providing for his family. Throughout his career, he was employed by Sylvania Yarn, Smith Bros., and Georgia Pacific. Following his retirement, he devoted his time to his passions as a skilled mechanic, an avid fisherman, and a master griller, proudly carrying on a tradition he learned from his father.

On the morning of May 28, 2026, Eddie answered the Master's call and entered into eternal rest. He was preceded in death by his father, Eddie Walker Sr.; his brother, Ronnie McDowell; his son, Anthuan Mozie; and his nephew, Antonio Walker.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife of forty-seven years, Cynthia Walker; his devoted daughter, Katie Walker (Patrick); his son, SPC Thomas Walker (Monet); and his beloved granddaughter, Madison Tisby.

He is also survived by his mother, Martha Walker; three brothers, Stephen (Linda) Walker, Michael Gibbons, and Mario Walker; and seven sisters, Shirley Walker, Brenda (Jermaine) Slater, Patricia Walker, Melanie (Drek) Williams, Sharon Gaines, Coretta (David) Oliver, Lorraine Walker and Shantelle Walker.

He leaves behind two brothers-in-law, Freeman (Frances) Wilkins and Charles (Patricia) Wilkins; five sisters-in-law, Gloria (Roger) Brown, Brenda Walker widow of the late Eugene Walker, Alfreda (O'Dell) Hannah, Hester (Johnny) Lucas, and Zerlene Lee. He was also preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Carrie (Anthony) Roberts.

Eddie's memory will also be treasured by eight aunts, three uncles, a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

He shared a special bond with his dear cousins/friends Joshuaway Parrish, Eugene Robinson Jr., Bruce Smith, Lee Davis, Darryl Lee, Vinnie Hurst, Kenny Oliver, and Ricky Jones.

Though he will be deeply missed, Eddie's legacy of faith, hard work, love for family, and dedication to those he held dear will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
