Mrs. Grace H. Williams

September 14, 1926 – January 28, 2024

Mrs. Grace H. Williams, age 97, began her earthly journey on September 14, 1926, the daughter of the late Mr. Virgil and Mrs. Victoria Shiggs Jackson in Sylvania, GA.

Grace made her home in Florida in the late 1950’s where she was employed with Broward County until she retired in 1992.  She returned home to Sylvania in 2009.  She was a faithful member of the New Light Baptist Church where she spent much of her time volunteering as well as in her community.  She enjoyed praying, reading her Bible, cooking, doing word search puzzles, and just spending time with her family that she loved so much.

On Sunday afternoon January 28, 2024, Mrs. Grace H. Williams completed her journey from this life and embraced eternal joy in the Presence of our Lord.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Victoria Shiggs Jackson, her husband, Shellie Williams, Jr., and her three children: Mamie Lou Roberts, George V. Williams, Sr., and Shellie Williams, and a granddaughter: Patricia Williams.

Grace will be remembered as a kind, caring, and giving person who always placed the needs of her family before her very own.  She was a strong woman of faith who faced every challenge with courage and dignity.  She was an inspiration to us all and she will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched.

She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory and enduring legacy her caring her devoted Grandchildren: Juanita (Ronnie, Sr.) Patrick, Wardell (Charmaine) Copeland, Jr., George V. Williams, Jr., Joe Nathan Williams, Sheldon Williams, Tanica Williams, and Bridgette Williams; loving Great grandchildren: Seanaire Williams, Contrina James, Ursula Mayes, Eddie Williams, Ronnie Patrick, Jr., Justin Patrick, Jacqueline Bray, and Juanita Wright, a host of Great-great grands;  Siblings: Betty Johnson, Lee (Emma) Jackson, Edna (Ezra) Brown, Ruby Jackson, and Virginia (Jonathan) Kindred;  along with a host of other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and sorrowing friends.
