Hal Jones Obituary

Remembering the life of Hal Jones

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith” 2 Timothy 4:7

Hal Jones was born October 29, 1948 in Sylvania, GA to the late Hattie Mae Jones Kelly and reared by Lester Kelly.  He departed this life on Saturday, November 29, 2025 at his home in Sylvania, GA.

Hal attended Central High School and later moved to Miami, FL with his uncle and auntie.  He enlisted in the US Army in 1968 and was a Radio Operator.  He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1970.  He was a member of Statesboro Mission Outreach Ministries, Inc.

He was a logger for many years before owning his own business.  He was a jack-of-all-trades, no jobs too big or too small and no season didn’t stop Hal at all.  His passions were hunting, fishing, trapping, cooking, junkman, roll back service, plumbing and gardening.  He loved animals, especially his horse, Joe.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Daisy Young, grandfather, Willie Young, sister, Ruby Lee and a brother David Lee Kelly.

His love and legacy lives on in hearts of those he leaves to cherish his memories.  Wife:  Sheila; daughter:  Tamika Bonner (Aubrey), bonus daughter:  Raven Lawton (Troy); sons:  Kenya Green and Adrian Jones, sisters:  Jadean Kelly and Kay Spearman (Ronnie); brothers:  James Kelly, Tommie Kelly, Lester Kelly, Jr. and Gary Daughtry; grandchildren:  Shakeirra Kirkland (Jamez), Kamilah Watson, Dale Bonner, Adrianna Jones, Logan, Elijah and Kennedy Green; great-grandchildren:  Kelseigh, Kamrynn, Jarkese, Jeremiah, Jaden, Kaleb, Makayla and Meho; I-in-laws, Dwayne Hudson (Marcia), Katrina Evans, Charles Reed; specials aunt:  Annie Mae Jones; godchildren:  Capri, Lorenzo and Eli; Special nephew:  Jeremial Hudson; nieces and nephews:  Dwayne Hudson, Jr., Kaysha Covington, Iesha Hudson, Jeremy Kelly, Kayronda Spearman, Brian Kelly, Kadedra (Sheree) Evans, Earl Williams, Chelsea Roberts, Natisha Daughtry, Gary Daughtry, Jr., Tuzett Clark; a host of other special friends, relatives and neighbors who he loved dearly.
