Ms. Janice LaCheryl Zeigler
May 12, 1971 – January 27, 2024
Ms. Janice LaCheryl Zeigler, age 52, was born on May 12, 1971, in Augusta, Georgia the daughter of the late Doris Zeigler Curtis and the late Horace Kittles.
At an early age, she joined Leet’s Chapel United Methodist Church now merged with Oak Grove United Methodist Church. She attended the public schools of Screven County, Georgia and was a 1989 graduate of Screven County High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Georgia, her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Fort Valley State University and a degree of Education Specialist in Instructional Technology from Valdosta
State University. Ms. Zeigler was an educator in multiple counties,
and ultimately found her passion as the Media Specialist at Oak Hill
Middle School in Milledgeville, Georgia. She adored her role as
mother, daughter, sister, coworker, and friend. On Saturday, January 27, 2024, Ms. Janice LaCheryl Zeigler made her final transition into eternity following an extended illness at the Piedmont-Augusta Medical Center of Augusta, Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her mother Doris Curtis, her father Horace Kittles, and her brother Oswego Curtis.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory and enduring legacy her loving son: Tyson Mekhi Zeigler of Milledgeville, GA and loving daughter: Erika Jayden-Alexis Cummings of Milledgeville, GA, a loving and devoted sister: Michelle (Victor) Herrington of Sylvania, GA. She was the proud Aunt of Hailey Herrington, Kamryn Herrington, Lauryn Herrington, Ava Herrington, Ashton Williams, Ke’Andre Curtis, Keiona Curtis, Ke’Cheona and Kaylen Williams, and Za’Kyie Curtis along with a host of other nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives and sorrowing friends.
