“For me to live is Christ and to die is gain” Phillipians 1:21
It is an awesome privilege that we have as the created image and likeness of God. As we live our lives as that image and likeness we are to reflect to God who is as the keeper and sustainer of all life. Here today we are gathered to celebrate a life well lived.
Evangelist Janie Lou Jackson-Burton, 62, was born April 6, 1960, in Jenkins County to Mrs. Lelia Bland Jackson and the late John Wesley Jackson. Mrs. Janie was the fourth of four children born to this union. She was preceded in death by her only sister Mrs. Sylvia Lee Bland.
Mrs. Janie was reared in Screven County and is a member of the 1978 Graduating Class of Screven County High School.
After completing high school Mrs Janie was employed at Badische Manufacturing, Cooper Wiss Corporation and finally Walmart Distribution 6061 out of Statesboro, Ga. And had several employee friends who loved her dearly and she loved them just the same. Especially Wal-Mart DC 6061 as an equipment operator in the shipping department for 17 years.
Janie was raised in a loving and God-fearing home and was baptized at the Dickey Grove Baptist Church. Later in life Janie affiliated with True Love Tabernacle Deliverance Center, Shechinah Worship Center and City of Victory. Janie was actively involved with those ministries in the choir and as an Evangelist. Mrs. Janie loved to sing and dance and was a praying woman. Janie has been a life-time member of the Sylvania Community as a friend and helper. Her kind disposition was soothing and was experienced by everyone who met her.
