James Anthony Johnson

Mr. James Anthony Johnson, 62, was born July 5, 1963 to the late Willie James Johnson and Jessie Almeta Simon Johnson in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia.  On Saturday afternoon James peacefully entered eternal rest, surrounded by his loving family at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Statesboro, Georgia.

At an early age, he joined the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.  He attended the Public School System of Screven County and was a member of the Screven County High School Class of 1982.

In addition to his parents, James was also predeceased by his grandmother, Annie Mae Owens; his brother, Willie Harold Johnson; his granddaughter, Paris White; his nephews, Ashton Mingle, Alex Mingle and Jeremiah Youmans.

He leaves memories to be cherished by his children, Lotoyer Brooks (Terrence) of Statesboro, GA, Marquis Johnson and Tabatha White both of Augusta, GA, Jayla Johnson of Bradenton, FL, Jameshia Johnson of Statesboro, GA and Jamaree Johnson of Fort Lauderdale, FL; his siblings, Eric Johnson of Atlanta, GA, Yvette Johnson of Sylvania, GA, Arthur Lee Brown (Michelle) and Chris Brown both of St. Petersburg, FL; his grandchildren, JaDevion, Akira, Alaina, Anyla, Braylen, Aubree and Chase; his aunts, Eva Fulcher (Walter) and Gwen Evans; also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
