Mrs. Jessie Almeta Simon Johnson

Mrs. Jessie Almeta Simon Johnson, 81, was born January 21, 1943, to the late George and Annie Mae Jackson Simon in Sylvania, Screven County, Georgia.

At an early age, she received her Christian upbringings at the Oak Grove United Methodist Church where she served faithfully. She attended the Public School System of Screven County. She was employed in the hospitality service industry throughout her lifetime.

She was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Mr. Willie James Johnson and to this beloved union three children were born. In addition to her husband and parents, Jessie was also predeceased by a son, Harold Johnson, and a grandson, Ashton Mingle.

On Saturday morning, April 06, 2024, Jessie peacefully eased out of her earthly vessel to embrace eternal joy in the presence of the Lord at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Statesboro, Georgia, following an extended illness. Like a faithful soldier, she fought a good fight, but it was time for her to take her rest.

She leaves precious memories to be cherished by four loving children: James Johnson of Statesboro, GA, Eric Johnson, Sr., of Sylvania, GA, Yvette Johnson and Lotoyer Brooks (Terrence) both of Statesboro, GA; a

very special devoted friend, Mr. Charles Fulcher of Sylvania, GA; her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart, Marquis, Erica, Allen, Jessica, Alex, Eric, Jr., Aikeem, Jestice, Jayla, Jamisha, Aunisha,

DeJon, Taneshia, Dytaisha, Assata, Brionna, Jasmine, Ja’Devion, and Jamaree; like a daughter: Barbara Roberts of Statesboro, GA; like a sister, Gwendolyn Evans of Sylvania, GA; one aunt: Eva (Walter) Fulcher of Sylvania, GA; one brother-in-law: Henry Cooper of Atlanta, GA; She also leaves 23 great grandchildren, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins  other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
