Jessie Bell (Roberts) Young

On Sunday evening, November 30, 2025, Sister Jessie Bell Young went into eternal rest to be

with the Lord.

Jessie Bell Roberts Young was born on October 15, 1953 to Mrs. Cora Lee Roberts and Mr.

Lloyd Roberts. She attended the public schools of Screven County and graduated with the

SCHS class of 1972. After graduating high school she attended Swainsboro Technical College

and obtained an Associates Degree as a Data Entry Clerk. Jessie began her career as a Data

Entry Clerk at Torrington where she later retired after over 42 years of dedicated service.

At an early age, Jessie joined the Hurricane Branch Baptist Church and later throughout her

faithful journey taught Sunday school. On October 19, 1984, She married the love of her life,

Deacon Charlie Lee Young. From this union a son, two daughters and an adopted daughter

was raised.

After this union, Jessie joined Simmons Branch Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday

School and was a dedicated and faithful member. After retirement, Jessie picked up a passion

for line dancing and enjoyed traveling with her children and grandkids.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents Cora and Lloyd Roberts, Two sisters, Five

brothers, and Grand parents.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories; Her son Douglas Whitehead of Sylvania, Ga,

Daughters Jessica Young of Sylvania, Ga, Sheena (Nick) Robinson of Statesboro, Ga, and

adopted daughter, Alicia Williams of Detroit, MI. Six grandchildren Shaniya Odom, and Kourtnei

Jackson of Statesboro, Ga, Ramiyah Perkins, Zayden Perkins, Kendrick and Kinsley Benton of

Sylvania, Ga. Two sisters, Martha Ann Kemp of Sylvania, Ga and Christine Stevens of Tampa,

Fl. Two brothers Ernest Roberts, and James Roberts SR (Sherry) of Sylvania, Ga, One

Uncle-in-Law Mike Kirkland of Sylvania, Ga, Forever Brother-in-laws, Lonnie Carrie of Sylvania,

Ga, George (Margie) Young and Timothy (Christy) Young of Statesboro, Ga, Willie (Ernestine)

Young of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. One sister-in law Shirley Ann Brinson of Statesboro, Ga.
