Mr. Johnny Eward Brown, Sr.
August 05, 1945 – August 02, 2024
MR. JOHNNY EDWARD BROWN, SR., 78, was the 9th child born to the late Fred and Claudia Usry Brown on August 05, 1945, in Avera (Jefferson County), Georgia.
At an early age, he joined the Stone Springfield AME Church. He was educated in and graduated from the Glascock County Training School in 1964. He was a masterful trade worker for many years until he retired in the year 2000.
Johnny resided in Sylvania, GA, for 36 years where he and his wife Linda Barnes Brown reared one son James Barnes. Johnny also had 7 more children that graced his life.
On Friday morning August 02, 2024, Johnny Edward Brown, Sr., entered eternal rest at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center of Statesboro, GA.
He was preceded in death by both parents and eight siblings: Lamar Brown, Mary Louise Brown, Clemetine Brown, Eddie “Boo Daddy” Brown, Sr., Florine Jones, Alveda Gilmore, Catherine Brown, and George Brown.
Johnny was a revered husband, father, brother, and uncle and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Fond and loving memories will forever be cherished by his loving and devoted wife: Linda Barnes Brown of the home; (8) Children: James Barnes, Sylvania, GA, Gary (Gail) Howard, White Marsh, MD, Jacque Howard, Evans, GA, Tonya (Rudolph) Brantley, Columbia, SC, Cynthia McNair (Nick) Jackson, Waynesboro, GA, Johnny Edward Brown, Jr., Savannah, GA, Stephanie Brown (Sean) Way, Graniteville, SC, and Nicole Jacobs of Lancaster, SC; his Sister: Freddie Lee Jordan of Wrens, GA; (2) Brothers: Garvin (Rosemary) Brown of Augusta, GA and Roy (Ellen) Brown, Sr., Wrens, GA; (4) Brothers-in-law: Griffin Gilmore, Augusta, GA, Bobby (Rozina) Barnes, Jackie (Johnnie) Barnes, and Willie (Pastor Mattie) Green, all of Sylvania, GA; (5) Sisters-in-law: Charletta Barnes, Corine Zeigler, Nora Jenkins, and Delores Green Jackson all of Sylvania, GA, and Ada Lee Brown, of Wrens, GA; (17) Grandchildren, (26) Great Grandchildren, (1) Great-great Grand along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
