KATHERYN (LEWIS) HUSBAND

The Legacy of Life

Katheryn Lewis Husband was born May 11,1949 in Sylvania, Georgia to the late James and Lessie Mae Lewis.  Katheryn made her transition on March 25, 2022 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center, Statesboro, Georgia.

Katheryn attended the public schools of Screven County and was a 1967 graduate of Central High School.  She was a member of Ditch Pond Baptist Church at an early age and after returning to Sylvania, she joined Oak Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir until her death.

In 1970 she met and married George Husband of Chicago, IL and they were blessed with two children, Gerald and Kellee.  She was predeceased by her son, Gerald.

Katheryn was a great lover of flowers.  Whenever you saw her, she was outside working in her flowers.  She loved children like she loved her flowers and did home daycare for fifteen years.  That was her passion.  People who knew her loved her because she had such a compassion for people; but, most of all, she loved her family.

Her memories will be forever cherished by:  Her husband, George; her daughter, Kellee; her sisters, twin sister Kate Austin, Annie Marie Welch (John), Florientine Jones, and Ollie Lee Williams (Melvin); her brothers, Jimmy Lewis (Dianne) and Rev. Kensley Lewis (Runnette); two special aunts, Mary A. Brown of Chicago, IL and Juanita Williams of Sylvania, GA; one special uncle, Governor Williams of Sylvania, GA; her grandchildren, Brittney Monique Husband, Brandon Marquis Husband, Gerald J. Husband, Jr and Demi Husband; great grandchild, Kayleigh Husband;
