Lizzie Mae aka "Lish" (Parrish) Cooper

Lizzie Mae "Lish" Cooper, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on December 25, 1936, to Dick and Ciara Parrish. Lizzie was a cherished daughter, devoted wife, loving mother, and beloved grandmother.

She married the love of her life, James Cooper, affectionately known as "Papa James," on August 1, 1968. They shared many happy years together until Papa James' passing on December 26, 1996. 

Lizzie worked for many years at Paterson Shade Inc., where she was known for her dedication and warm personality. She touched the lives of many through her kindness, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Lizzie leaves behind a large and loving family. Her son Larry Darnell Cooper preceded her in death; three surviving children, James, Juanita, and Jamie (Teresa); as well as five grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren; her eldest special niece Ida, as well as her best friend cousin Bertha White. Her family was her pride and joy and she was a source of wisdom, love, and support for each of them. Affectionately called Grandma Lish or Momma Lish, she was loved for her delicious home-cooked meals, and she especially enjoyed baking cakes for her family.

Lizzie Mae Cooper will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her gentle spirit, unwavering love, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind will be remembered forever. "Hold the pepper!"
