Lynn Prescott Obituary

MR. LYNN PRESCOTT

April 30, 1953 – June 24, 2026

His Work Here Is Done

Mr. Lynn Prescott, 73, entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.  He was born on April 30, 1953 in Sylvania, Georgia.

Lynn was a hardworking, dedicated man who believed in earning an honest living.  He took great pride in providing for his family and was known for teaching many of his family members the value of hard work.  His children often worked alongside him, learning not only how to earn a living but also the importance of responsibility, perseverance, and integrity.  His work ethic and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elroye Young and his grandparents that reared him, Agnes and Bill Prescott.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his mother, Joyce Tanksley of Hiltonia, Georgia; his devoted wife, Linda Prescott of Girard, Georgia; his daughters, Latoya Brinson of Sylvania, Georgia, Shalanda (Terrence) Calles of Girard, Georgia, Kaeshanier Cooper of Augusta, Georgia and Shannon Clark of Savannah, Georgia; his son, Roderick Cooper of Augusta, Georgia.  He also leaves behind 23 beloved grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren whose names will forever be a part of his legacy.  He is also survived by his sisters, Shirley Barnes, Alice Herrington, Linda Anderson, and Brenda Herrington all of Hiltonia, Georgia; Dosha Brinson, Nita (Joseph) Davis, Mae Smith, Ruby (Jeff) Davis, Minnie Pinkney, Terry Herrington and Gloria Herrington all of Sylvania, Georgia, Cassie Landers, Mable Lee Young and Sylvia (Harrison) Albright all Augusta, Georgia; his brothers, Butch (Carol) Herrington, Keith Herrington, Reggie Anderson, Elroye Young, Jr. (“Bunk”), Craig Dixon, Ron Herrington, Marvin Anderson and Jimmy Anderson all of Sylvania, Georgia, Randy Herrington of Sardis, Georgia and Julius Young of Augusta, Georgia, and Greg Herrington; he also leaves to cherish his memory, his uncles, Mickey (Elouise) Prescott of Millen, Georgia, Hubert Prescott and Gary (Vera) Prescott, both of Sylvania, Georgia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.

A special expression of love and gratitude is extended to his devoted caregiver and beloved niece, Tiffany “Tipp” Shephard, whose faithful care, compassion, and unwavering support brought comfort and strength throughout his journey.

Though Lynn has departed this earthly life, the lessons he taught, the love he shared, and the example he set through his hard work and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.  His memory will forever be treasured, and his legacy will continue through the many lives he touched.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
