MARIE W. PARRISH

The Legacy of Life

Mrs. Marie Parrish was born December 30, 1934 to the late Helen Kent Hammond and was raised by her Paternal grandparents the late Lillian Heath Kent and Toby Kent in Sylvania, Screven County, Georgia.

Marie attended the Public Schools of Screven County.  At the age of nine she joined St. Andrews United Methodist Church and served on the Usher Board for many years.  In 1954 she married Lucious Parrish and they became proud parents of five children.

In addition to her parents and grandparents, she was also predeceased by a sister, Margaret Lovett; daughters, Melva J. Burton and Carolyn P. Sapp and grandson, Charles Burton.

She leaves fond memories to be cherished by her husband, Lucious Parrish; her children, Edward Lee Parrish, Linda Morgan and Muriel P. Robinson; her grandchildren, Tyrone Fields and wife, Lamont Parrish (Byranda), Eddie Parrish, Jr., Serena Parrish, Carsha Sapp Lovett (Brandon), Terel Parrish (Mica) and Brianna Robinson; her goddaughter, Maria Ivey, her bonus daughters, Connie Natson, Demetris Ingram, Janie Duncan, Jeanette Bryant and Gail Myles; her adopted grandchildren, Charlene Burton, Chris Burton and Qunisha Burton; 18 grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and 5 great-great-great grandchildren; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
