Martha Mae Patterson

It isn’t the date on either end that counts, but how she used her dash.  For that dash between the date represents all the time she spent alive on earth and now those who loved her know what that little line is worth.

Martha Mae Wright Patterson was born January 25, 1959 to the late Thomas Wilson Wright, Sr. and Annie Mae Roberts Wright in Sylvania, Screven County, Georgia.  Martha departed this life on August 19, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center, Augusta, GA.

Martha attended the public schools of Screven County and was a 1977 graduate of Screven County High School.  At an early age she joined St. Andrews Chapel AME Church.  She loved to cook, craft draw and sew things in her free time.  She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren like they were her own.

She was united in holy matrimony to THE LOVE OF HER LIFE, Abraham Patterson, Sr. September 30, 1977 and to this union, four Children were born.  In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by David, Dorothy Lee, Talmadge, George, Thomas and Iverson Wright.

She leaves fond memories to be forever cherished by a loving husband, Abraham Patterson, Sr; her children, Abraham Patterson, Jr, Rachael (Charles) Taylor, Ray (Val) Patterson, and Natasha Patterson; her siblings, Sallie Crayton, Inez Wright, Tonya (Richard) Scurry, Bristol, Roger, Rowan (Ruthie) Wright; grandchildren, Kendrall,Kenyatta, Kendrick, Kevin, Deonte, Breylon, Lei’Ameryst,and Mystique; step grandchildren,Terrell, Bruce, Johnny Ray, Marcus (Nicole), Eugene, Albert (Chantel), Diamone, Ariel, Ayana, and Darry; her step-grandchildren, Dekari, Parris, Cardence, Carson, Camill and Cameron; her in- laws, Corine (Terry) Pride, Clyde (Willie) Allen, Sr., Almae Dixon, Thelma Patterson, Norman (Arneda) Patterson, Jr., Undlee Patterson, Mozel Patterson, Bennie (Bessie) Patterson, Sr., Ulysses Patterson, Henry Patterson, Hull Lee (Jackie) Patterson and Genorman (Jeanette) Patterson, Sr.; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
