Mary Arizona (Gaines) Ponder

Mary Arizona Gaines Ponder was born August 24, 1960 to the late Horace and Lottie Mae Simon Gaines in Sylvania, Screven County, Georgia.

Mary attended the Public Schools of Screven County and was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church.  She was employed in janitorial service until her health failed.

She was a loving and caring person and would always open her arms and heart to anyone who needed her.  She loved her family dearly and would always put them first.  Mary loved fishing, working wit her flowers and watching lifetime movies.

She leaves memories to be cherished by her companion, Carl Davis of Sylvania, GA; her sons, Melvin Gaines, Brad (Jacinda) Gaines and Jimmy Nesmith; her brother, Sylvester Gaines; her sister, Gloria (James Parrish) Gaines all of Sylvania, GA; three aunts, Leola Gaines, Alberta Frazier and Eva (Walter) Fulcher all of Sylvania, GA; a devoted cousin, Gwen Evans; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
