 Mary Esther Prescott

February 4, 1944 – April 20, 2025

Mary Esther Prescott was born to the late Oliver Anderson and Pearlene Roberts Anderson, February 4, 1944, in Screven County, GA.  She departed this earthly life on Sunday, April 20, 2025.

Mary received her education from Annie E. Daniels School in Sylvania, GA. She worked as a seamstress at White Stag until she retired and was also a devoted Foster Parent for many years.  She was also a faithful member of Johnson Grove Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Doctor John Harmon.  She loved serving as President of the Usher Board.

In addition to her parents, Mary was also predeceased by her loving husband, Willie Prescott; her daughter, Marilyn Zeigler; her stepdaughter, Catherine Bryant; her siblings, Alberta (Honey) Brinson, Minger Grant, Nathan Frazier and Frances Cuttray. 

Mary will be missed by all that she touched throughout her life.  Family and friends, please remember she will live forever in our hearts.

Mary leaves to cherish her memories, five children, Alicia Prescott Lanier, Caprisha Prescott, Janae Prescott and Sergeant KeShawn Prescott; six grandchildren, Dezarae Lanier, Amarri Lanier, Cameren Lanier, Brycen Byrd, Braylen Byrd and Joissaint Lubin; special son, Dominique Richardson; special daughter, Destiny Reeves; five godchildren, Timothy Brinson, Marian Robinson, Jamar Osborne, Rebekah Harris and King Feeeman; five sisters, Martha Bryant, Estella Jones, Rose Freeman, Brenda Herrington (Stanley) and Lynda Anderson (Steve); brothers, Hilton Waters (Arlene), Henry Screven, Royal Roberts, Keith Prescott, and Richard (Reggie) Anderson; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
