Mildred Grant Ivery was born September 28, 1939 to the late August Cooper and Carrie Cooper Grant in Millhaven, Georgia. God called His precious child home, Sunday, July 11, 2021 under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.
Mildred attended the public schools of Screven County. At an early age, she joined Lovett Baptist Church. On August 19, 1960 she married Willie C. Ivery and to this union, five children were born. She moved from Belle Glade, Florida back to Hiltonia, Georgia in 1969 after her father’s death to care for her mother. She later started working at Hiltonia Headstart as a cook until she retired in 1999.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by brothers, Robert Grant and Charlie Grant, and sisters, Elizabeth Jennings, Ella Mae Cleveland, Queenie Mae Brown and Dorothy Oliver.
Mildred leaves to cherish fond memories; her children. Jerome Grant, Sandra Ivery, Leonard Ivery, Marvin (Yvette) Ivery and China Ivery; her sister, Barbara Grant; sister-in-law, Ida Bell Grant; her godson, Ronny Oliver; 21 Grandchildren, thirty great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; she also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
