Nicholas Whitehead Obituary

Nicholas Bryan Whitehead was  the second son born to Donald and Bernice Whitehead on July 15, 1981 in Statesboro, Georgia and his life ended on September 23, 2021.

Nick was a welcomed addition to the Whitehead family and he grew to love not only his family but the Creator of Family Life, his Heavenly Father Jehovah. He showed this love by his dedication and baptism  on January 16, 1993,  as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He regularly shared in worship with his family, to help others know about his loving Heavenly Father.

Nick completed his secular education at Screven County High School and Ogeechee Technical College before moving to Rocky Mount, NC.  While there he pursued a photography career with Grand Studios for 13 years. He worked with Sabb Personal Care Home for 2 years. Additionally, he always made time to develop his skills for computer service and repair.

His return to Sylvania led to him finding the love that would complete his life, Tenecia Nicole Sheppard. They chose to confirm their love on April 10, 2017. And how Nick’s heart overflowed joy and pride when they were blessed with Nicholas Jayden Whitehead on April 19, 2019. From that day forward he has been affectionately called Lil Nick.

Nick loved his family and always brought laughter and humor to any gathering.  He had a talent for drawing and enjoyed traveling with his family.  Nick loved to collect caps and you rarely saw him without one on.  Each morning was a delight when he arrived from work because he was greeted by his son’s anxious  giggles as he wondered what  snack he had for him. They enjoyed time together playing games and watching movies.

Nick was preceded in death by his grand parents, Willie & Earline Whitehead, Millen, Ga ; Paul & Odessa Roberts, Sylvania, Ga. His  Uncle William Earl Durden and Aunt Virginia Summers, Angela Durden and   Jeanette Roberts.

Happy memories with Nick will be cherished by his wife, Tenecia  and his sons Lil Nick and Michael Phillips.  He will be deeply missed by his parents,  Donald and Bernice Whitehead, along with the family he gained with his marriage:   Mary Lee Robinson (David), James Marvin Sheppard (Shirley),  Sylvania. Eula Sheppard (Moses) and Ruby Sheppard ( Lloyd Sheppard). Sister-in-law Channell Walker (Mark), Macon ,  Ga,  Brother- in-law James Marvin Sheppard Jr. , Sylvania, Ga.

His brothers Darkey Donald Whitehead ( Cassidy) and Joshua (Alanna) Whitehead will miss his laughter  and the bond they shared.

The Aunts and Uncles with memories to share are : Ronald (Justine) Whitehead, Waynesboro Ga; Rose Daniels, Detroit, Michigan; James Roberts, Albany, Ga; Barbara Roberts, Sylvania, Ga; Paul Roberts, Augusta Ga; Nathaniel (Jeanette) Roberts; Neville (Hilton) Rountree; Clay (Carolyn) Roberts;  Felicia Griffin, Sylvania Ga

He will be longed for by nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and his spiritual family in many congregations. But most importantly he will be missed by his Heavenly Father, Jehovah, who will fill his yearning for Nick by resurrecting him back to life. Then once again he will enjoy dancing with Lil Nick and  Tenecia.  “You will call, and I will answer you. You will long for the work of your hands.” - Job 14:15;  Acts 24:15
