The Legacy of Life
Phillip Ramon Simon was born July 7, 1978 in Millen, Jenkins County, Georgia to Phillip Simon and Wanda Faye Hunter Simon. He left this life unexpectedly on March 25, 2022 in Effingham County.
Phillip attended the school systems in Atlanta, Georgia where he enjoyed playing tenor drum for the marching band of McNair. He was fortunate to get to travel to Pasadena, California with Morris Brown Marching Wolverines. He moved back to his hometown of Sylvania in 1994. He became very active and involved with the youth of Screven County.
Phillip was the co-founder of Soulja Squad and the dance instructor for Shades of Arts. He was instrumental in starting their drumline and from there he joined Schechinah Worship Center where he became a mime dancer for Selah which led him to working with Anointed Praise and Dance Team. He also co-founded the Hawk Enrichment Center with Pastor Chris Thomas.
He moved to Effingham County where he was joined in holy matrimony to Mariya Thomas on May 27, 2017 and to this union two families were joined
Before he left this life, he was actively involved with the Effingham Outlaws where he was co-founder and VP. He left this life doing what he thoroughly enjoyed mentoring young men and playing the game he loved.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Mariya Thomas Simon; his children’ William (Neeoshee) Gerald of Sylvania, Justen (Ashli) Clark of Nevada, Marquis Ford of Sylvania, Iyonte Simon of Savannah, Cambriah Allen and Kevin Simon both of Guyton; his mother, Wanda Faye Simon; his father, Phillip (Liz) Simon; grandchildren, Justen Jr, Jaidyn, Jaymi, William IV, A’aylonie and Daeshon; his siblings, Tomeico Gresham and LaShuna (Jerry) Franklin both of Atlanta, Fredrick Blue of California, Hasan Eason of Brooklet, Latarsha Gresham, Breshunda (Demetri) Gresham, Adrianne Hunter and Necey Hunter all of Sylvania, Georgia, Kevin Hunter of New Jersey and Adrian Hunter of Mississippi; he also leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren and friends.
