Mr. Roy Roger Gatson, Jr.
(1957 – 2022)
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

Mr. Roy Roger Gatson, Jr. was born to Mrs. Susan Curtis Gatson and the late Mr. Roy Roger Gatson, Sr., on December 31, 1957, in Screven County, GA.
Roy received his early Christian upbringings at the Simmons Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He attended the public schools of Screven County and graduated as a member of the Screven County High School Class of 1976. A hard worker, Roy was an employee at Sandoz (Clariant) Chemical Plant in Martin, South Carolina until he earned his retirement. Roy then established his own business Dreammaker, LLC., a professional lawn care and landscaping service with loyal customers throughout the Southeast region.
Roy enjoyed playing basketball as a hobby and was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his father, Roy was preceded in death by his brother Mr. Daniel Davis.
On Monday, January 10, 2022, Mr. Roy Roger Gatson, Jr., peacefully transitioned from this mortal life to life in eternity at his residence.
He leaves behind to cherish fond memories, his loving Mother, Mrs. Susan Curtis Gatson, Brooklyn, NY; one daughter, Lieutenant Colonel Octavia R. Scott, U.S. South Korea; two sons, Mr. Roger R. Gatson III (Jackalon), Sylvania, GA and Mr. Matthew R. Gatson, Sylvania, GA; his three sisters; Ms. Bernice Davis, Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Debra Jackson (Donnie-deceased), Baxley, GA, and Mrs. Betty Cosby, Savannah, GA; and one grandson: Mr. Daryel Elijah Amar Smith, Statesboro, GA along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
