Reflection of Life
Reverend Leroy Green, Jr.
March 23, 1943 – November 5, 2024
A charge to keep I have, a God to glorify
A never dying soul to save and fitted for the sky
On March 23, 1943, in Sylvania, GA, the late Mr. Leroy Green, Sr. and the late Mrs. Perrie Lee White Green were blessed with their second son, Leroy Green, Jr. He was educated in the Screven County School System and was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1964, Sylvania, GA. Upon graduation Leroy was drafted into the United States Marine Corp. Having served his country well and serving in the Vietnam War, Leroy received an honorable discharge. He was employed with Badische Corporation and later with the Screven County Board of Education as a bus driver and then as bus monitor.
This mighty man accepted Jesus Christ into his life and became a member of Weavers Tabernacle F.B.H. Church. He served faithfully in the ministry. He pastored for 48 years, at Mt. Zion F.B.H. Church, Wadley GA, Thomas Grove F.B.H Church, Newington, GA, and 8 years at his untimely death at Weavers Tabernacle, White Hill, GA.
In 1973 he married the love of his life, Mae Catherine Smith. He fondly refers to her as “Gal”. For 51 years they were truly happy and loving each other and serving the Lord. They were blessed with three children.
On Tuesday November 05, 2024, Reverend Leroy Green, Jr., answered the summons to live in eternity with the Lord at East Georgia Regional Medical Centers of Statesboro, GA following an extended illness.
