Mr. Ricardo Castavius Daughtry
May 18, 1984 – June 10, 2024
Mr. Ricardo Castavius Daughtry, 40, was born May 18,1984, to Denise Simmons and Timothy Stancil in Sylvania, GA.
Ricardo attended the Screven County School System. He loved basketball and football. He later became an author and writer of children’s books. He published his first book, “Baylock: The Creation of Mega Squirrel”, in 2021. He was also known as being a leader who represented a class of incarcerated individuals advocating for their rights and needs behind the prison walls. Recently he was able to successfully obtain a settled agreement which governed better treatment for the incarcerated individuals.
On June 10, 2024, Mr. Ricardo Castavius Daughtry entered into eternal rest at Jackson State Prison, SMU, in Jackson, GA.
Ricardo was preceded in death by his grandmothers Annie Lee Daughtry and Frances Stancil.
He leaves to cherish his memories; his Mother: Denise (Terry) Simmons of Sylvania, GA, his Father: Timothy Stancil of Sylvania, GA, three Brothers: Antwaan Stancil of Raleigh, NC, Corey Stancil of Sylvania, GA, and Deont’e Simmons of Sylvania, GA; two Sisters: Brittney Daughtry of Lincoln, AL, and Keisha Daughtry of Woodbridge, VA; four Aunts: Eula Lee Godbee of Augusta, GA, Willie Lee Mingle of Augusta, GA, Ruthie Lee (Rev. Uley) Robbins of Sylvania, GA, Ethel (Harry) Parker of Rocky Ford, GA; six Uncles: William Stancil of Sylvania, GA, Clinton (Lavern) Daughtry, Jr. of Fort Pierce, FL, Curtis (Melann) Daughtry of Millen, GA, Ezekiel (Renia) Daughtry of Fort Pierce, FL, Richard Daughtry of Sylvania, GA, and Jeff (Trell) Daughtry of Sylvania, GA; three Nephews: Isaiah Stancil, Kayden Daughtry, and Rasheed Stancil; two Nieces: Kailani Stancil and Amora Stancil; along with a host of loving and devoted cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
