Mr. Roscoe Hunter Sr.

Oct. 16, 1940 – Sept. 9, 2024

On Monday September 9, 2024 an angel came and took Roscoe Hunter home to be with the Lord.  He was born to the late Alberta Jacobs Hunter and James Hunter on October 16, 1940 in Sylvania, Ga.  He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Goloid United Methodist Church.  He attended Goloid Elementary School.

He worked at King Finishing Plant, Sylvania Yarn, and he also drove trucks for Louisiana Pacific.

He was united in holy matrimony to Inez C. Hunter, and out of that union five children were born. 

He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory seven children Dennis Jones, Roscoe Hunter Jr., Richard (Carol) Hunter, Connie Hunter Baptiste, Inez Hunter Wheat, Ralph Hunter, and Ebony Hunter.  12 Grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, two brothers, Ralph Hunter and James Hunter Jr., precede him in death as well as two sisters, Alberta Hunter and Eloise Hunter-Wilson.  Living siblings, Joe Louis (Ivy) Hunter of Sylvania, GA, Virginia McCray of Statesboro, GA, Daisy Taylor of Atlanta, GA, and Eula Miles of Decatur, GA.  A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
