Sergeant Ernest Bangs, 83, was born August 28, 1942 to the late George Bangs and Marie Leech Bangs in Sylvania, Screven County, Georgia. He departed this life, Saturday, June 6,2026 at Optim Medical Center Screven, Sylvania, GA.
Ernest attended the Public Schools System of Screven County and graduated from Central High School Class of 1962. He was instrumental in carrying on the remembrance of Central High School by helping to organize The Centralite Reunion. After high school, he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1969.
After returning home, Ernest started Ernie Bangs Auto Body Repair. He took pride in his work and continued for many years before joining Wallace Paint and Body. He worked there for many years.
In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by a son, Reverend Vernell Cutter; his siblings, Ernestine, Beatrice, Delores, James and Jerry.
Sergeant Bangs is survived by his children, Veronica (Patrick) Bing, Michael (Felecia) Walker, Sean Nichols-Walker, and Tasean Walker; his sister, Jerry Ann Roberts; his grandchildren, Marcello, Jada, Vernell, Amber, Jerrond, Raven, Kayla, Matthew, Deontay, Shanekqua, Kamari and Kyle; his daughter-in-law, Anita Moore Cutter; the mother of Sean, Tasean and Michael, Dorothy Mae Landfair; also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
