Mrs. Shirley Ann Smith Mercer

Mrs. Shirley Ann Smith Mercer, 76, was born the daughter of the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Maggie Daughtry Smith on August 06, 1948, in Screven County, GA.

Born in a Christian home, she received her early spiritual upbringing in Holy Temple Fire Baptized Holiness Church.  She attended the Screven County School System.  After graduating high school, she married the love of her life, the late Willie Mercer in 1968.  To this beloved union two daughters were born.

Shirley was a woman of quiet strength and character.  She was a caring, nurturing, and loving woman who endured many losses.  Yet, she carried on for her family without complaint.

On Friday, January 31, 2025, Mrs. Shirley Ann Mercer departed this life peacefully to rest in eternity with her Lord, at her residence in Augusta, GA.

Her precious memories will forever live on in the hearts of her two loving daughters: Kelli (Steven, Sr) Hazel of North Augusta, SC and Amber Danita (Dwayne ) Kanoyton, Grovetown, GA;  one devoted brother, Charles Smith of Sylvania, GA;  seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
