Susan Curtis Gatson

Mrs. Susan Curtis Gatson was born to the late Mr. Eugene Curtis and the late Mrs. Susie Fletcher Curtis, February 14, 1933.  She departed this life on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Raised in Screven County, Susan departed for Brooklyn, New York as a young adult in search of a better life for her and her family. An exceptionally hard worker, Susan was an employee of the City of New York's Department of Environmental Protection until she earned her retirement.  Also, a woman of courage, determination and strong will, Susan admirably pursued and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of New Rochelle in her later years.  Susan was an active member of her church and many civic organizations in New York throughout her life.

In addition to her mother and father, Susan was also preceded in death by her sons, Mr. Daniel Davis and Mr. Roger (Roy) Gatson, Jr.

She leaves behind three daughters, Ms. Bernice Davis, Brooklyn, NY, Mrs. Debra Jackson (Donnie, deceased) of Baxley, GA and Mrs. Betty Cosby, Savannah, GA; and her beloved siblings, grandchildren, and family members.
