Sylvester (S) Gaines

Mr. Sylvester Gaines was born April 6, 1956 to the late Horace and Lottie Mae Simon Gaines in Sylvania, Screven County, Georgia.

“S”, as he was affectionately called, attended the public schools of Screven County and was a graduate of Screven County High School.  At an early age, he joined Oak Grove United Methodist Church.  He was employed with Newton Farm and Gaines Construction for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his siblings, Evan, Corrie Lee, Diane, James and Mary.

He is survived by a son, Maricus White of Sylvania, GA; a sister, Gloria (James Parrish) Gaines of Sylvania, GA; bonus brothers, Minus Gaines, James (Gladys) Taylor and Carl (Elizabeth) Simon all of Sylvania, GA; a bonus sister, Gwen Evans of Sylvania, GA; three aunts, Leola Gaines, Alberta Frazier and Eva (Walter) Fulcher all of Sylvania, GA; loving and devoted cousin, Sharon Simon of Sylvania, GA; devoted friends, Danny and Betty Williams of Sylvania, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
